Kinja'd!!!

For a few years now I’ve heard that this is a must-watch film. Now I see why.

Take the absolute cream-of-the-crop of Hollywood zombie movies, sprinkle in a pinch of Korean culture that permeates the film , and add a heaping cup of c haracter development.

What you end up with is Train to Busan. An incredibly rare horror movie where you find yourself hoping—praying—that each character finds a way to make it out alive. These are fleshed out people who make reasonable choices that actual humans would make in similar situations , and as their character arcs progress it’s hard not to feel invested.

Train to Busan won’t keep you up at night with the lights on in every bedroom. It can’t match the horrifying imagery of the mid 2000's Evil Dead remake, or the fear of the unknown that is watching The Descent for the first time . There isn’t a singular monster that will latch onto your brain. If you’re looking for another Pennywise, look elsewhere . What you do get is a constant sense of dread and impending doom. A tenseness that starts to smother you , unrelenting from start to finish.

Seriously, fantastic from start to finish. Well-rounded movie , which is all the more impressive given the genres usual works.

10/10

My only problem with the movie is that the zombies seem to be spreading across the country must faster than a high-speed train, which seems unlikely.

I watched i t last month. GREAT MOVIE!

There’s also another recent zombie survival korean movie that's good-Alive, it's on Netflix

Glad to see the shout out for Descent- underrated underappreciated movie. I recommend that to so many people after watching it.
